As Indonesian communities mostly lack options to solve their waste problems, more than 500.000 tons of plastic waste end up in the ocean, while five times more plastics are burned in backyards. Through capacity building and waste collection infrastructure in the field, we can directly impact this problem.
We teach people how to change consumption habits, segregate waste and how to market their valuable plastic waste. We approach citizen in schools, universities, around waste banks and in community buildings.
We connect people to their local waste infrastructure such as to collectors and aggregators of plastic waste. We also educate the informal waste sector how to properly manage plastic and other waste.
Through education and networking along the supply chain of plastic waste we ensure that local waste management ecosystems run. We educate our audiences to become “SampAssadors” - waste ambassadors, so that they replicate and sustain the educational impact among their family and friends.
